Frequently asked questions

An SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate validates the authenticity of your website and encrypts the information that online visitors send to and receive from it.

Every time a user provides confidential information (such as passwords, credit card numbers, etc.), a secure connection is established with their browser, ensuring that no third party can access this data.

By using an SSL certificate, you protect your customers' personal data and secure your online transactions.
This creates a trustworthy environment where your customers feel safe.

During the data exchange process via the secure connection provided by SSL, the transmitted information is encrypted.
The encryption mechanism transforms the information into a format that can only be recognized with the appropriate decryption key.
This ensures that no third party, without the required authorization, can read or intercept the transmitted data.

Certificate Authorities issue three types of certificates that differ in how a company is verified.

A DV (Domain Validation) certificate is the easiest to obtain, with a relatively short issuance time (1 day).
This type of certificate only "validates" the domain — meaning you’ll simply prove control over the domain, such as access to DNS or email, to get the certificate.
As a result, you can be sure that data exchange between your website and the user’s browser is encrypted. However, visitors won’t have any confirmation of the domain owner’s identity, since no organizational validation takes place.

In contrast, an OV (Organization Validation) certificate verifies the applicant and authenticates the organization or company.
During the validation process, the Certificate Authority checks your company’s details to confirm they match the domain you wish to secure.

Finally, an EV (Extended Validation) certificate represents the highest level of validation, as the verification process is much more thorough.
With this type of certificate, your company name can appear directly in the browser’s address bar (often highlighted in green), providing maximum trust and visibility.
