Why register a trademark?

Protection

You prevent third parties from using your trademark and protect your business from competitors and malicious practices.

Credibility

You can legally use the ™ symbol, indicating your trademark is registered. This enhances your business’s credibility.

Recognition

You stand out in the market, and your customers can clearly identify you without confusing your brand with others that have similar names.

Everything you need, included

We offer a range of useful services to protect your brand.

Search and consultation

We check if your trademark is already registered, whether it's original, and if it exists in trademark databases to avoid possible rejections. If any issues arise, we provide consulting services with alternative branding options.

Trademark registration in Greece

We handle the registration process of your trademark (wordmark, figurative, or combination) in Greece for 10 years. Upon completion, you will have exclusive usage rights within the Greek territory.

Class selection consulting

Trademark classes categorize products or services. We help you select the appropriate classes based on your business’s commercial activity.

Brand monitoring service

We monitor the market and notify you if an identical or similar brand appears in your registered classes. We also offer third-party brand monitoring (e.g., for competitors or other companies in your group).

Frequently asked questions

A trademark is considered any sign capable of graphic representation that can distinguish the goods or services of one business from those of others. Trademarks may consist of words, names of natural or legal persons, pseudonyms, images, designs, letters, numbers, sounds—including musical phrases—as well as the shape of a product or its packaging.

The National trademark is filed with the Trademark Department of the Ministry of Commerce and Development and is valid (i.e., exists and is protected) only within Greece.

The European trademark (European Union Trademark, formerly known as Community trademark) is filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and is valid and protected in the 28 EU member states (as of now).

The International trademark requires a prior filing or registration of a Greek or EU trademark. Upon application by the rights holder, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ensures that the same trademark is forwarded and examined as a trademark application in any of the designated member countries chosen by the applicant. Therefore, the International trademark is not a trademark valid worldwide—it is rather a bundle of national trademarks, each of which is essentially treated as a national trademark application in the countries selected by the rights holder.

It can take up to 18 months to complete, and only after approval can you use the â„¢ symbol next to your brand name.

Once a trademark is registered, it becomes an intellectual property asset belonging to the rights holder for a period of 10 years.
After that, if the rights holder wishes, they must proceed with renewing the trademark registration.
