Speed optimization of a WordPress site

One of the most important goals of a site creator is to build a website that will be displayed to the visitor in the shortest possible time (minimum response time). Based on our technical infrastructure, all the necessary actions have been taken to achieve the above. Based on this, the page administrator must exploit the server's resources to the maximum extent so as to achieve even faster loading of his page.

If your site is built with WordPress, follow the steps below:

1. PHP version upgrade The latest versions of PHP use cache technologies but in general can better manage system resources. By using the above, you can achieve an increase in speed.

2. Enabling cache In a shared hosting environment, the A's and O's are caching when it comes to page speed. To enable caching, you can install with simple steps W3 Total Cache which is a free plugin and provided by the same WordPress community.

3. Reduce the size of photos Reducing the volume (size) of a site has a direct impact on its loading time. Two simple steps to achieve the above is to delete photos you don't need or modify them so that they have the correct format such as JPG, PNG, GIF. To do the above, you can enable the WP Smush plugin.

4. Enable Defer parsing of JavaScript Asynchronous loading of javascripts is particularly important to achieve an even faster loading of a site. This action can be done through a plugin like WP Deferred JavaScripts.

5. Check your code via performance plugin One of the most important development plugins provided by the WordPress community is P3 which checks your plugins and sends you a report with both loading times and other performance tips, based on which you can configure the your website to improve its response time.

6. Website control by GTmetrix and PageSpeed: Finally, there are sites that calculate the loading speed of your site and with reports and graphs advise you on what you should do for immediate optimization. Some of the most popular are GTmetrix, which simply you enter the domain name and clicking Analyze, you have the optimization reports……and Google PageSpeed, you select Run Insights, you enter your site and click analyze.
